UNA Fiji holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The United Nations Association of Fiji (UNA Fiji) held it's third (3rd) Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Dudley High School, Toorak Road, Suva on Saturday, 7 May 2022 and was chaired by the President of UNA Fiji, Honourable Mr. Akmal Ali.
The primary discussions at the AGM included:
1. Receiving and noting the Hon. President’s Annual report, which highlighted key events and activities of the Association such as;
a. The successful completion of the BDTP 2021;
b. The virtual launch of the official UNA Fiji website during the pandemic restriction period on 25 September 2021;
c. the 2021 UNA Fiji Community-Based Project involving beach clean-up and the planting of 10,000 mangrove seedlings at Tikaram Park, Lami, Republic of Fiji, on 18 December 2021;
d. and the official opening of the 2021 Navua Community Impact Project at Wainidova settlement, Navua, Republic of Fiji.;
2. Receiving and endorsing the UNA Fiji Audited Financial Report dated 31 December 2021, which included accounts from 2016.
3. Endorsing and approving the UNA Fiji's official flag with its primary colours being white and blue to identify and represent Unity, Peace and Oceans. This primarily represents Fiji and UN colours.
The meeting ended on a high note with a resolution.
Once again, a big vinaka vakalevu to everyone who has contributed to the growth of UNA Fiji throughout 2021 towards becoming a leading policy voice on multilateralism in Fiji through works framed by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGS) established by the UN to guide the international community until 2030.
