Leaders Complete Diplomacy Training
Eighteen budding leaders successfully received their certificates after completing a Basic Diplomacy Training program in Suva yesterday.
The program was facilitated by the United Nations Association of Fiji (UNA Fiji) where trainees were taught vital skills in negotiation, public speaking, conflict resolution, and research.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Ministry of Foreign Affairs chief protocol Jiko Rasoqosoqo thanked the graduates for their hard work and encouraged the staff of UNA Fiji to continue working to prepare future leaders as they enter employment.
UNA Fiji president Akmal Ali said the capacity-building program aimed to teach individuals from any sector the art of leadership and diplomacy.
“The students had a session every Saturday for over a period of 19 weeks and we taught them how to write speeches, how to negotiate, how to be mindful and also creative,” he said.
The program began in 2016 and more than 300 individuals had graduated with a certificate in basic diplomacy.
